Going into the August Dead Period, Alabama Football has 14 verbal commits in the 2024 class. According to the On3 Industry Rankings, the Alabama Crimson Tide has the third-best class in the SEC and the No. 4 class in the nation.

As attention turns to the regular season, Alabama football fans are still smarting from recent Tide targets who chose Auburn instead. Concern over recruiting is an every summer ritual for some Alabama fans, but with few exceptions, Nick Saban never fails to replenish enough talent at positions of need.

A positive perspective includes the Tide’s quite young 2023 roster does not have many (or any) holes to fill. Particularly on the offensive side of the ball, recruiting priorities are shifting to the 2025 and 2026 classes.

For the 2024 class, Alabama has its quarterback in 5-Star, Julian Sayin. Running backs are not a major need and adding one might be enough. The Crimson Tide has two top interior offensive linemen committed,  to add to a strong group of 2023 freshmen tackles. One 4-Star tight end has been added and probably only one more is needed. A couple of wide receivers need to be added, but the 2025 class already has two top wide receiver commits in 5-Star, Ryan Williams, and 4-Star Jaime Ffrench.

Alabama Football Top Offensive Targets

  • 4-Star, Wide Receiver, Amari Jefferson – Alabama is battling Georgia and Tennessee for Jefferson, but Alabama football insiders project the Tide as the leader. He will announce on Aug. 5.
  • 3-Star, Wide Receiver, Koby Young. Alabama is rumored to be working hard to flip Young from his commitment to Georgia Tech.
  • 4-Star, Running Back, Daniel Hill – South Carolina offers Hill the prospect of more playing time, but Alabama could land one of the best power backs in the class. He will announce on Aug. 23
  • 4-Star, Running Back, Nataniel Frazier – Georgia is believed to lead for Frazier, but the Crimson Tide’s history with Mater Dei High School and the help of QB commit, Julian Sayin could land Frazier for the Tide.
  • 3-Star, Offensive Tackle, Favour Edwin – Edwin is a surprise priority for the Crimson Tide given he has never played in an official football game. The native Nigerian is expected to make a decision in August or September.

Though in the 2025 class, another name to watch is 5-Star, Safety, Jontae Gilbert, who recently de-committed from Ohio State. Picking another school may not come quickly for Gilbert, but Alabama Football is frequently linked to the elite recruit.

Saban doing what he has never done. dark. Next

Despite the temptation to doubt, the best perspective on Alabama football recruiting is to always trust Nick Saban.
