Surely 2024 can’t be this bad as 2023

  • Ole Miss Rebels (7-5) – Happiness Quotient 1. There were indications last season the bloom was off the rose in Oxford. Ole Miss lost its last four games and five of its last six 2022 games. In his head coaching career, Lane Kiffin has never made it through a fourth season anywhere. 2023 is year four for Kiffin at Ole Miss. Crawford’s prediction has the Rebels losing a second straight to Mississippi State. Since Billy Brewer’s last season in 1993, Ole Miss has had eight head coaches, with an average tenure of 3.5 seasons.
  • Missouri Tigers (6-6) – Happiness Quotient 1. The Tigers were 6-7 last season. At the least, Eli Drinkwitz must get them to a bowl game and win it for Eli Drinkwitz to return for a fifth Missouri season. The Tigers should be improved, but likely not improved enough.
  • Florida Gators (5-7) – Happiness Quotient 1. If Crawford is correct, it will be the third consecutive season for the Gators. No coach should be on a hot seat for poor team performance in a season two, but Billy Napier could be. Somewhere in Crawford’s prediction of seven losses, Napier must find a win and the best chances are SEC road games.

How right or wrong are Crawford’s predictions? In what could be a volatile SEC football season, few predictions will be valid.
