Well Texas is back I guess.

That means that Alabama needs to bounce back after falling 34-24 to the Longhorns in Week 2.

The good news for the No. 10 Crimson Tide is that they don’t start their SEC gauntlet just yet and have a get right spot against South Florida.

BetSided college football betting analyst Reed Wallach likes Nick Saban’s team to take care of business as a big favorite. You can check out his full betting preview for betting trends and key players of the game.

Now, let’s take a look at the odds for Bama and USF.

Alabama vs. South Florida odds, spread and total

Betting analyst prediction for Alabama in Week 2

Texas really slowed down the Alabama offense and Jalen Milroe last week, but Wallach expects the Crimson Tide offense to “find its stride” this week against USF.

“Against an inferior opponent with a rebuilding defense, I believe the Crimson Tide will look to put a big number on the scoreboard and cover the spread against the Bulls,” Wallach wrote.

However, it’s not just that USF is weaker on the defensive side. Their offense is nothing like the potential juggernaut that Texas is starting to turn into under former Bama assistant Steve Sarkisian.

“Meanwhile, the Alabama defense got beat over the top a few times by some of the best wide receivers in the country, but South Florida lacks the ability to do that with the raw Brown at quarterback,” Wallach wrote. “Brown isn’t an efficient enough passer to challenge the Crimson Tide defense, who should get pressure in the backfield all game long.”

There is a chance that Nick Saban pulls his starter early in this game as a big favorite, but the Alabama backups are still more talented than USF and should easily cover this spread.
