First, I would like to say I loved the energy of this Alabama football team today. After giving up an early touchdown to Ole Miss, the defense answered the bell and got after it. The energy of the defense was personified by the big hit by Jam Miller.  I was looking for this defense to get after Jaxson Dart, and they did just that. In the second half of the game, Alabama did what they are built to do and that is to end the game running the ball. Ole Miss knew what was coming and Jase McClellan ran it down their throats. This is the joyless murder ball we have been looking for.

Alabama Football still needs improvements

There are still some issues that have to be cleaned up, but these conversations are much easier to have after a convincing conference win. First, there is no reason why this Alabama football team should ever be in shotgun at the goal line. Also, I am not sure why Seth McLaughlin is still having so many issues snapping the ball. He is too old, and we are too late in the season for these issues to still be showing up every game.  The penalties and mental mistakes we saw in the first half are still concerning, especially with two back-to-back road games looming for this Alabama football team.

Jalen Milroe continues to be up and down, but outside of the frustrating interception in the red zone and taking too many sacks in the first half, I loved his efficiency. The touchdown pass to Jalen Hale was a thing of beauty, and we may have a star in the making with Hale. This was the confidence-building performance Milroe needed before heading to Starkville and College Station.

Next. What about the Pete Golding defense?. dark

Despite all the questions and uncertainty coming into this game, it was refreshing to see this Alabama football team come together and handle business against a solid Ole Miss team. This is much closer to what you expect to see from a Nick Saban-led Alabama team. There is a much better feeling this Saturday evening than last in Crimson Tide Nation.
