Alabama Football: Poll upticks for Crimson Tide after Ole Miss win

There are 10 undefeated teams ahead of Alabama Football in the latest Coaches Poll. The Alabama Crimson Tide moved up one spot to No. 11 after its win over Ole Miss.

The SEC leads all conferences with seven teams in the latest Top 25. Two new SEC teams, Missouri and Florida entered the Top 25. Counting the ‘Others Receiving Votes’ nine SEC teams are in the top 31 ranked teams in the Coaches Poll.

The biggest gainer in the Coaches Poll was Washington State, moving up seven spots to No. 17, after winning the Pac-2 championship by beating Oregon State.

Alabama Football was also ranked higher than seven 4-0, Top 25 teams. Those teams are Oklahoma, North Carolina, Duke, Washington State, Miami, Missouri and Kansas.

The Crimson Tide also moved up one spot in the latest AP Poll to No. 12. Like the Coaches Poll, seven SEC teams were ranked in the Top 25. Two more SEC teams gained votes in the ‘others’ category.

There are more than 40 Power Five undefeated or one-loss teams. It will take a couple of more weeks for that number to go down considerably. A road win over Mississippi State will help Alabama Football, but it is unlikely to be a big rankings booster.
