Alabama Football Receivers: B-

With Alabama attempting just 13 passes the entire game, opportunities were very limited for the Bama receivers. With senior Jermaine Burton and sophomore Kobe Prentice essentially missing from what was a pared-down rotation, Bama wideouts made just four receptions in this game. Perhaps we will get some answers on the statuses of Burton and Prentice over the next week.

JUCO transfer Malik Benson once again flashed he can be a playmaker, making a 27-yard grab. Bama fans are still waiting to see if he will develop into a consistent weapon in the Alabama offense this season. Junior Ja’Corey Brooks and sophomores Isaiah Bond and Kendrick Law contributed one catch apiece.

The tight ends were more impactful than the wide receivers in this game. Sophomore Amari Niblack caught three balls for a game-high 61 yards and continues to be a vertical threat.

Niblack has eight receptions for the season, five of which have gone for 20+ yards. He is an unorthodox athlete, but his speed and coordination are ridiculous relative to his size and he regularly appears to catch defenses off guard.

In addition to his three receptions, Niblack was nearly able to secure a Prothro-esque touchdown catch in the back of the end zone on a well-thrown ball from Jalen Milroe.

Transfer tight end CJ Dippre’s lone catch of the evening went for 26 yards and a 3rd and long conversion. Robbie Ouzts rounds out a versatile three-man rotation that has been very effective to this point.
