After what most call an ugly win Saturday afternoon, Alabama Football moved up two spots in the latest Coaches Poll. As the SEC’s second-highest-ranked team, the Alabama Crimson Tide is tied with Texas at No. 8.

The Georgia Bulldogs, held on to No. 1 in the poll, with the next three positions also being unchanged.

The gap between the Crimson Tide and the Longhorns, and the No. 7 ranked Oklahoma Sooners is sizable.

After week seven, the Coaches Top 25 has only nine undefeated teams. The Crimson Tide is ranked higher than two of them; North Carolina and Air Force.

The biggest upward moves in the poll were Tulane (up 11 from the Others Receiving Votes); Iowa and Air Force (both up six spots) and Missouri up five positions. The deepest dives came from USC, down seven spots and Lousiville down six spots.

The SEC dropped to six teams in the latest Coaches Top 25, with the Kentucky Wildcats moving down to the ‘others’ group of teams. All six of the SEC teams are ranked in the top 20 teams.
