Alabama’s National Championship odds on move following LSU win
By Reed Wallach
Alabama took care of business on Saturday night at home, defeating LSU 42-28 to gain control of the SEC West.
Jalen Milroe was excellent in dissecting LSU’s defense, passing for 219 yards and rushing for 155 yards with four touchdowns on the ground. On the heels of the team’s great performance and the inside track to the SEC Championship game, Alabama’s National Championship odds have become the fifth best on the board, moving from +1400 to +600.
Alabama is likely heading towards a matchup with two-time defending National Champion Georgia in the SEC title game, and must win out in order to make the CFP, but with the group of contenders that can make the final four shrinking, Alabama is predictably moving closer to the top as it remains in the mix.
The Crimson Tide will be double digit favorites in its three remaining regular season games at Kentucky, home for Chattanooga and at Auburn in the Iron Bowl before the team will be a considerable underdog against Georgia in the presumed SEC title game.
If Milroe and the emerging Crimson Tide ground game can continue to be effective, the outlook on the team’s season continues to change.
For now, let’s get you set with the updated National Championship odds following Week 10 with the Crimson Tide starting to close the gap with the other contenders.
