A day after beating Morehead State at home the Alabama Basketball received good news landing the commitment of Four-Star Small Forward Naas Cunningham. Cunningham is the 53rd-ranked player in the 2024 recruiting class. Cunningham chose the Alabama Basketball program over many of the nation’s top programs as he received plenty of offers. Cunningham is the second recruit in Alabama’s 2024 class joining Four-Star Power Forward Aidan Sherrell. The commitment moves Alabama’s class up to the 2nd ranked class in the SEC behind Missouri.

This was a big get for Alabama and Nate Oats after losing a few key recruiting battles. After losing out on Boogie Fland to Kentucky and Asa Newell to Georgia it was big for Nate Oats to win a battle. The focus for Alabama Basketball turns toward Five Star Power Forward Derrion Reid. Reid named Alabama Basketball as one of his finalists before postponing his commitment and it’s unclear when Reid may commit and if it will be before early signing day.

Alabama Basketball: Use win on the court on the recruiting trail.

As Alabama Basketball starts its season it can use its wins on the court to help in the recruiting process. The Crimson Tide continues its opening stretch at home hosting Indiana State, South Alabama, and Mercer. The Crimson Tide should use these games to showcase their talent as commits continue to decide where they may commit. Nate Oats has to be pleased with his class so far however he still has a need at Point Guard. The biggest target for the Alabama Basketball team currently is Zoom Diallo the nation’s top point guard. Diallo is teammates with Alabama Commit Aidan Sherell as well as Alabama target Derrion Reid which could help Nate Oats in landing the trio of teammates.
