Coming off of a dominant win over the Kentucky Wildcats the College Football Playoff Committee ranked the Alabama Football team 8th unchanged for another week. This was par for the course with no help coming in the way of an upset. The last two regular season games will give no help to the Alabama Football team either with Chattanooga and Auburn outside of the Top 25.

The Alabama resume took a hit with Ole Miss losing to Georgia falling to 13th and Tennessee falling to 18th after their loss to Missouri. LSU did climb to 15th following their win over the Florida Gators. The ranking of 8th is puzzling as the Alabama Crimson Tide has three top twenty wins. Teams ranked ahead of Alabama in Texas, Florida State, and Washington all struggled to put away inferior teams this past weekend and saw no drop in their rankings.

Alabama Football: Rankings are interesting but, win out and you’re in

Let’s face it regardless of where the committee says the Alabama Football team lands there’s one thing that matters the rest of the way. Should the Alabama Football team win out beating Chattanooga, Auburn, and Georgia in the SEC Championship Game they’ll most likely make the playoff. The SEC has never been left out of the playoff in its current format and I think an Alabama win over an unbeaten Georgia would be the final touch on a solid Alabama resume. Should Georgia enter the SEC Championship game undefeated and ranked first as the committee slots them now a win in Atlanta would give the Alabama Football team the best win in the country with the winner of Michigan and Ohio State having the second-best win with the third-best win belonging to Texas with their win in Bryant Denny Stadium.
