College Football Playoff anticipation is gripping the attention of the nation. Alabama Football and eight other teams are widely considered to be the remaining Playoff contenders.

The CFB Playoff Selection Committee will release two more Tuesday night rankings before the final ranking on Sun. Dec. 3. Much can and probably will happen over the next three Saturdays of college football. Actually, there will also be a couple of key Friday games after Thanksgiving.

There are so many remaining variables, any prediction of the final Selection Committee’s Top 25 is more bold than practical. That did not stop Pete Futiak of College Football News from making a prediction on Friday.

Futiak stated his “fast forward to the end” will be updated (meaning revised) as needed. The revision could easily be needed as soon as this Saturday. All nine Playoff contenders are in action this Saturday and at least three of them; Louisville, Washington, and Texas have road games that could be lost. Not to mention that among the other six teams, a shocking November upset could occur. Alabama football fans don’t have that worry. There is zero chance the Chattanooga Mocs will knock off the Crimson Tide.

Futiak Predicts Alabama Football (and other contenders)

  • Alabama Crimson Tide; 12-1, SEC Champion, CFB Playoff No. 3 seed
  • Oregon Ducks; 12-1, Pac-12 Champion, CFB Playoff No. 4 seed
  • Texas Longhorns; 12-1, Big 12 Champion, CFB Playoff No. 2 seed
  • Michigan Wolverines; 13-0, Big Ten Champion, CFB Playoff No. 1 seed
  • Georgia Bulldogs; 12-1, Ranked No. 5 in final Selection Committee Top 25 ranking
  • Ohio State Buckeyes; 11-1, No. 6 final ranking
  • Florida State Seminoles; 12-1, ACC Champion and final ranking at No. 7
  • Washington Huskies; 11-2, No. 8 final ranking
  • Louisville Cardinals; 10-3, No. 15 final ranking

Other SEC Teams Final Selection Committee Ranking Prediction

  • Missouri Tigers; 10-2, No. 9 final ranking
  • Ole Miss Rebels; 10-2, No. 11 final ranking
  • LSU Bengal Tigers; 9-3, No. 14 final ranking
  • Tennessee Vols; 8-4, No. 22 final ranking

Pete Futiak’s boldest prediction is not Alabama Football beating the two-time, reigning National Champion Georgia Bulldogs. His boldest picks are Miami to knock off Louisville and the Florida Gators to upset Florida State in The Swamp on Nov. 25. He also predicts that Oregon State will beat Washington this weekend.

Next. Bama Hoops has one more prelim and then it's serious. dark

While the odds of Futiak being 100% correct are almost nil, Alabama fans can freely consider him a soothsayer. Even if he is less than that, my take is Alabama over Georgia in Atlanta will be no upset.
