Arkansas brings back Bobby Petrino

It’s hard to top coaching news when Texas A&M hired a new head coach but, Arkansas did just that by hiring back disgraced former head coach Bobby Petrino as their Offensive Coordinator. When the news broke there was shock all over the country as Petrino put Arkansas into its darkest period and absolutely disgraced the program.

In 2010, Petrino led Arkansas to a 10-3 season, and in 2011 he went 11-2 finishing the season ranked 5th in the country. In April of 2012, Petrino was in a motorcycle accident with a former Arkansas Volleyball player who he’d hired to work for the football program. Petrino revealed before the police reports were released that she was not only a passenger but, that he was having an affair with her. This launched a major Arkansas investigation that found gifts sent to Dorrell and that Petrino misled his higher-ups leading to his firing.

The craziest part of the entire process of Arkansas was yesterday when Pete Thamel of ESPN said the following:

"Arkansas is vetting hiring former head coach Bobby Petrino as the school’s next offensive coordinator."

What does Arkansas need to find out? They’re the ones that investigated him, firing him for cause back in 2012. Now, the Razorbacks are a few losses away from Sam Pittman being fired and Bobby Petrino returning to the Head Coaching role he was fired from.

Times like these make you thankful that there’s far less drama from the Alabama Football program and that you’d like to think something like this would never happen to Alabama Football.
