Mississippi State hires Oklahoma OC Jeff Lebby as its Head Coach.

Mississippi State stood no chance this season, losing a head coach as beloved as Mike Leach put the Bulldogs in a spot. They weren’t ready to replace him and it led to a 5-7 season. The Bulldogs tried to replace Leach by hiring his Defensive Coordinator Zach Arnett. Arnett was placed into an impossible position replacing a legend like Mike Leach for his first head coaching gig.

Like Petrino, Lebby does come with some of his own baggage. Lebby was named as one of the coaches who didn’t take action against a player who was accused of Sexual Assault during his time at Baylor. Jeff Lebby also decided to promote and sell #CAB shirts supporting Art Briles during the scandal.

The Bulldogs let go of Arnett and decided to go back to where they had success and hired offensive-minded Jeff Lebby. The fans were so happy with the hiring they carried Athletic Director Zac Selmon on their shoulders like he was Rudy while they awaited Lebby’s arrival in Starkville.

Lebby will bring in an exciting high-scoring offense to Starkville and it will give the fans what they desperately want. All Mississippi State fans want is for programs like the Alabama Football team and Georgia to fear them and stop treating them like they are a “buy game”.
