5 Alabama players the preseason All-SEC teams may regret overlooking

The preseason All-SEC teams were announced on Wednesday, and it was the usual suspects for Alabama football.

Per the league's coaches, the following Crimson Tide players were represented:

1st Team: CB Zabien Brown, S Bray Hubbard

2nd Team: WR Ryan Coleman-Williams, OL Michael Carroll

3rd Team: LB Yhonzae Pierre, S Keon Sabb

While you can certainly quibble with Coleman-Williams and Pierre not being 1st teamers, the six players chosen are the guys you would expect.

There are still quite a few talented players left off, however, who might make that look silly by the time the season ends. Let's take a look at five Alabama players who aren't on the preseason All-SEC team that could make that look silly by season's end.

These 5 Alabama players could push for All-SEC consideration in 2026

LB Caleb Woodson

The Virginia Tech transfer is among a talented group of portal additions for the Crimson Tide that have flown under the radar for Kalen DeBoer. Woodson looks the part and arrived in Tuscaloosa and immediately snagged the starting spot at Mike LB for Kane Wommack.

Woodson will be the green dot in the middle of what has the potential to be one of the nation's best defenses. If Alabama's defense reaches that level, it'll be impossible to ignore Woodson in the middle of it all.

DL Devan Thompkins

There is a lot of optimism inside the Alabama football building that the Crimson Tide has massively upgraded its defensive line this offseason. The portal additions of Devan Thompkins, Terrance Green, and Kedrick Bingley-Jones give Alabama an experienced group up front, and there's plenty of depth down the two-deep.

While all three have been standouts in fall camp, it has been Thompkins who has generated the most buzz. He's been a difference-maker, and he could be in line for a monster season by making a big impact for Wommack's defense.

C Racin Delgatty

Despite transferring from the FCS level, it took Delgatty no time to lock down Alabama's starting center spot back in the spring. He's slightly undersized, but he's bigger than Parker Brailsford, Alabama's starter at the position the last two seasons.

Delgatty is bringing the right attitude and mindset to the Crimson Tide's offensive line. Alabama is determined to run the football more effectively, flipping the narrative from last season. Delgatty could be at the forefront of that change.

CB Dijon Lee

Lee was a part-time starter for Alabama last season as a freshman, overtaking senior CB Domani Jackson for part of the season. Now, Lee is fully entrenched across from Zabien Brown, and the two form one of the nation's top CB tandems.

While Brown is getting the love he deserves, Lee is still flying under the radar a bit heading into the season. He's got a chance to be one of the best cornerbacks in college football this season.

QB Keelon Russell

He hasn't officially won the job yet, but the competition appears to be trending in Russell's favor to be Alabama's starting QB in 2026. The rising sophomore has been terrific in fall camp and raises the ceiling of the Tide's offense with his ability to work off-script and make plays with his legs.

It's not a snub to not include Russell on the preseason teams, considering he will be a first-time starter this season and hasn't officially locked up the job yet. But by the time the season ends, it wouldn't be a surprise if he had a Bryce Young-like sophomore season and emerges as one of the top quarterbacks in the country.
