With preseason almost over and the regular season looming, NFL teams are preparing to trim their rosters down to the 53-man league limit by 6pm ET on Sunday.
That means quite a few players are on the chopping block as the final cuts loom. That includes several former Alabama players who are looking to either catch on - or hang on - to their pro football lives.
Let's take a look at five former Tide players who are right on the cut line heading into Sunday's deadline.

RB Jam Miller
Jam Miller's preseason stat line looks pretty similar to most of his stat lines at Alabama last year:
11 carries, 36 yards
That hasn't been good enough to position him for one of the 53 available spots in New England, and he's currently on the outside looking in for a roster spot heading into the final preseason game. If he gets cut, you can expect that the 7th-round draft pick will be signed to the Patriots' practice squad, which could give him a chance to earn a spot on the roster later in the season.
WR John Metchie
ESPN has Metchie on the outside looking in for a roster spot for the Carolina Panthers, but he certainly helped himself in the last preseason game, turning seven targets into six receptions for 77 yards.
He's certainly got Bryce Young in his corner. The two had excellent chemistry during their time at Alabama, and Young would certainly like to keep Metchie around.
Carolina's final preseason game is on Friday against the Houston Texans, the team that drafted Metchie. If he can put together another strong performance, he might earn one of the 53 spots on the roster.
LB Ronnie Harrison
Former Alabama safety Ronnie Harrison has been an NFL journeyman, spending time in the pros with the Jaguars, Browns, Colts, and Falcons before signing with the Miami Dolphins in free agency.
Harrison, now a linebacker, appears to be right on the cut line for the Dolphins before Sunday's deadline.
OLB Chris Braswell
It might be surprising to see Braswell, a second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on this list. But according to ESPN, Braswell is in danger of getting cut at the end of the preseason.
He hasn't yet made a big impact in the NFL as the Bucs had hoped. He's registered just 2.5 sacks across two seasons.
A big problem for Braswell heading into Tampa's preseason finale is that he's currently banged up and did not make the trip to Jacksonville, preventing him from the opportunity to make a final statement before the roster gets trimmed.
OL Evan Neal
The 7th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft has had a tumultuous career so far. He started 27 games across his first three seasons, but struggled mightily for the Giants. He spent last season as a backup and now appears to be on New York's roster bubble.
With a new head coach in John Harbaugh, all bets are off for Neal. If he gets cut, it would be the end of a disappointing era for the former Crimson Tide star with the Giants. He'd likely get another opportunity as a backup elsewhere, but it appears his chances of carving out a lengthy NFL career are dwindling.
