Ask anyone around the Alabama football program right now and they'll tell you that the culture and buy-in of this team is strong. It's so strong, in fact, that there's already an eye toward the future for a pair of current Crimson Tide defensive backs who have taken an Alabama commitment under their wing.

5-star Alabama commit Jorden Edmonds, the No. 1 CB in the 2026 class according to the 247 Composite, was spotted in Atlanta this week working out with Tide cornerbacks Cam Calhoun and Dijon Lee.

Edmonds committed to Alabama back in March, choosing the Crimson Tide over Georgia and 40+ others. It's safe to say his commitment looks solid with Alabama considering he's already hanging around with players currently on the team.

Calhoun and Lee are both new to the Tide program. Calhoun transferred in from Utah. Lee was a 5-star in the 2025 recruiting class. Both have already flashed a lot of promise and will be tough to keep off the field despite Alabama returning both starting cornerbacks from a season ago.

With those two joining returning starters in Domani Jackson and Zabien Brown, Alabama has arguably the best quartet of cornerbacks in the entire country.

Maurice Linguist is stockpiling an insane amount of talent in Alabama's secondary

Maurice Linguist was Alabama's cornerbacks coach last season and will now coach the entire secondary. His ability as a recruiter and developer has paid major dividends already in his short time in Tuscaloosa.

The defensive backfield was an area of legitimate concern heading into last season, but guys like Brown and Jackson made immediate impacts and formed a formidable duo at corner. Alabama's depth this season has improved dramatically with the addition of Calhoun and Lee.

The future of the Alabama secondary looks bright. Jackson is in his final season of eligibility, but the Tide could return Brown, Lee, and Calhoun next season. They will add Edmonds and Gadsden City's Zyan Gibson to that group.

At safety, Alabama has an impressive trio ready for snaps in 2025 led by Keon Sabb and Bray Hubbard. Zay Mincey transitioned to safety during bowl practices last season and looked immediately comfortable. Redshirt freshman Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. and true freshman Ivan Taylor look like future studs.

In 2025, Alabama should field one of the best secondaries in college football. Moving forward, that looks like it's going to be the norm with the talent that is stockpiling in Tuscaloosa.
