Fall camp has brought a recent rash of injuries for Alabama. On Monday alone, it was announced that Jeremiah Beaman went down with a potentially serious injury in practice on Sunday, and that 5-star freshman safety Jireh Edwards would undergo surgery on an upper-body injury and be out indefinitely.
That's in addition to AK Dear and Nick Sherman being out, and minor dings to EJ Crowell and Lotzeir Brooks, not to mention the injury to NC State transfer WR Noah Rogers, who has been out since the spring.
Another 5-star freshman DB - Jorden Edmonds - suffered a lower-body injury before the first scrimmage of camp. His injury isn't expected to be long-term, but he is expected to miss the first few games of the season, at least.
On Monday, Edmonds took to social media to provide a positive update for Crimson Tide fans, stating he would be back "real soon."

5-star CB Jorden Edmonds shares calming message when Alabama fans needed it most
Alabama has three defensive backs slated to miss time with Edmonds, Sherman, and Edwards. The good news for Alabama is that room is the single deepest on the roster. But both Edmonds and Edwards, in particular, were expected to see some early playing time as the talented DBs made strong pushes in camp.
Edmonds is expected to be a backup at CB alongside Mercer transfer Carmelo O'Neal, with Zabien Brown and Dijon Lee entrenched as the starters. Edmonds is another big, lengthy corner that Maurice Linguist likes at 6-foot-3. Edmonds committed to Alabama early in the 2026 cycle and never wavered from his commitment. He's a player fans have been excited to see in action.
And while they'll have to wait a little bit longer than would have been preferable, Alabama is fortunate that his injury isn't going to be season-ending. That's the same for Edwards, too. Despite the 5-star safety having to undergo surgery, he's expected to be back sometime this season. Both are quality depth pieces that will have a role on defense and special teams when they are able to get back on the field.
The good news for Kalen DeBoer is that so far, none of the injuries suffered in camp have been of the season-ending variety. It's possible that Beaman's injury is based on the way it was described by DeBoer on Monday. Clarity on that injury should come later on Tuesday.
