5-star SG Caleb Holt, an Alabama native, has locked in his official visit with Nate Oats and the Crimson Tide for this fall.

Holt grew up in Alabama, but transferred to Grayson High School in Georgia before the start of his junior year of high school. He recently announced he would be transferring again to play his senior season at Prolific Prep, a place that has been a recent pipeline to Tuscaloosa.

In the 2024 class, Oats landed both Derrion Reid and Aiden Sherrell out of Prolific Prep. Reid transferred to Oklahoma after his freshman season, while Sherrell remains in Tuscaloosa and is set to take on a major role in his sophomore season for the Tide.

Holt will visit Alabama over the weekend of October 3rd. Holt has been to Tuscaloosa many times, including a recent trip to observe practice just last month.

Holt is one of the most sought-after prospects in the country this cycle. He's a consensus 5-star and the No. 5 overall player in the 247 composite. His standing as one of the top prospects in the country was only helped by his performance at the FIBA U19 World Cup, helping lead Team USA to a Gold Medal. He scored a team-high 20 points in the team's semifinal victory. One of the court coaches for the U19 team? Nate Oats.

Holt isn't an elite shooter at this stage of his career, but he's a guy who can put consistent pressure on the rim, a skill that is invaluable in Oats' system.

The 2026 class could be a special one for Nate Oats and Alabama

Holt becomes the fifth Top 50 prospect in the 2026 class to schedule a visit with Alabama this fall.

Joining him will be SG Tarris Boule (9/6), PG Deron Rippey Jr. (9/13), SF Jaxon Richardson (9/13), and SF Cole Cloer (10/18).

Richardson recently trimmed his list down to 10 schools, a list that included the Crimson Tide. Most experts view Alabama as the favorite in his recruitment due to Oats' relationship to the family and Alabama finishing as the runner-up to Michigan State in the recruitment of his brother Jase.

Oats has recruited at a high level in all six years he's been in Tuscaloosa. He has signed a class that ranks inside the Top 20 in all six recruiting cycles, including now three Top 5 classes.

Alabama's recent addition of 4-star big man Collins Onyejiaka to the 2025 class catapulted them into the Top 5 of the composite.

Despite that history of success, the 2026 cycle could be the best one yet for Oats as he shoots for the stars with the top prospects in the country.
