Jared Doughty isn't a name known by many fans, even those who follow recruiting closely. His recruitment has been relatively under the radar, until recently. Doughty's senior season tape has drawn the attention of power programs far and wide, and now the Atlanta native is one of the most coveted uncommitted prospects in the country.

Heading into his senior season, Doughty was committed to Georgia State. He had no major offers until the start of the 2025 season, and since August 30th, the 6-foot-5, 300-pounder has picked up the following offers: Georgia, Missouri, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Ohio State, and Kentucky. Things changed quickly for Doughty, and he promptly decommitted from Georgia State on September 6th after those first three Power Four offers came rolling in.

Doughty looked destined for a small school; now he's going to have his pick of the litter of power programs. The late bloomer has quickly risen the ranks. He's still under the radar in terms of his ranking - he's ranked as the No. 912 prospect overall and the No. 75 OT in the class - but his tape has opened the eyeballs of some of the nation's best coaches.

Doughty announced on Thursday his official visit plans for the fall, which will include a trip to Tuscaloosa on November 15th for Alabama's matchup against Oklahoma. He'll also visit Florida State, Georgia, Auburn, and Missouri.

Alabama would love to add another offensive lineman to the 2026 class

Alabama doesn't have many needs remaining in the 2026 recruiting class. Most of the legwork was done in the summer, and Kalen DeBoer is comfortable with where the Crimson Tide sits. As things stand, Alabama has the No. 4-ranked class in the composite rankings with 21 commitments. The main goal between now and the early signing period is fending off the poachers trying to flip recruits in the Tide's class.

But Alabama still hopes to add a couple of players, too. They're in the market for a defensive lineman, and their pursuit of Doughty shows they'd love to add another offensive lineman to the mix.

Currently, Alabama has three offensive linemen committed to this class: 4-star guards Sam Utu and Chris Booker, along with 3-star OT Bear Fretwell, whom the Crimson Tide flipped away from Georgia Tech over the summer.

There will be plenty of competition down the stretch to land Doughty, whose head has to still be spinning over the attention he's now getting after a slow recruiting process. Alabama getting the last visit could be a significant advantage.
