The biggest point of emphasis for Alabama in the Transfer Portal was improving on both lines of scrimmage. After getting bullied up front by Indiana in the Rose Bowl, Kalen DeBoer had no choice but to find upgrades up front on both sides of the ball.

After landing five offensive linemen in the portal already, DeBoer and GM Courtney Morgan turned to the other side and landed one of the top portal defensive linemen in the country in Oregon's Terrance Green.

Oregon transfer DL Terrance Green commits to Alabama

Green was one of the most coveted players in the Transfer Portal, but Alabama didn't let him escape Tuscaloosa without landing his commitment. Green is the No. 8 DL in the On3 portal rankings, and joins USC's Devan Thompkins (No.2 ) in giving Alabama two Top 10 transfers on the defensive line.

Green is a mammoth 6-foot-5 and 330 pounds with a ton of experience at Oregon. He'll probably be Alabama's starter at nose tackle, allowing London Simmons to shift over to DT. He's a massive addition for the Crimson Tide's defensive line and should be a strong replacement for the departing Tim Keenan.

Green was a rotational piece for the Ducks last season, and he'll bring strength, power, and much-needed experience for the Crimson Tide up front.

Green is the 16th commitment for Alabama in the Transfer Portal. After a slow start in the portal, DeBoer and GM Courtney Morgan have made some strong moves over the last week to bounce back and bring in talent to Tuscaloosa.

He's the third addition to the defensive line. Along with adding Green and Thompkins, Alabama also landed an experienced interior defensive lineman from Mississippi State in Kedrick Bigley-Jones.

It should be a versatile and talented group up front. Bandit was the position of concern after losing LT Overton to the pros and Keon Keeley, Jordan Renaud, and Kelby Collins to the Transfer Portal, but with Green jumping in the boat, Thompkins should be able to spend quite a bit of time in that position on early downs, while probably sliding inside during passing situations.
