There's simply no stopping Alabama football and head man Kalen DeBoer right now. This month alone, Alabama has been red hot on the recruiting trail, with 5-star linebacker Xavier Griffin highlighting things over the weekend.
Believe it or not, even more good news has arrived for the Tide. Moments ago, wideout Owen Cabell decided to shut down his recruitment and you guessed it, he's Tuscaloosa-bound. Cabell may not be the highest-rated playmaker out there (he's a 3-star guy), but Alabama moved pretty quickly to get things done here.
DeBoer officially put an offer on the table for the 6-2, 200-pounder on June 2 - then he got him on campus for his official visit on June 20, ultimately leading to this latest news. Oh and by the way, Cabell is a standout for Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville and had Vanderbilt as one of his finalists. So, instead of playing a stone's throw away for Vandy, the lure of playing for Bama was too much to pass up on? You bet:

Nashville WR Owen Cabell has spurned hometown Vandy and committed to Alabama
The Tennessee product was also giving Illinois a serious look, but DeBoer and Co. were able to come out on top in the end. Throughout his recruitment, the newest Tide verbal picked up 20 offers. He's ranked three stars, the No. 166 wideout in the country and No. 37 player overall from Tennessee.
With Cabell on board, DeBoer and Alabama are now up to 15 known commitments for the 2026 class. It wasn't long ago that Bama was in the 40s-50s of the recruiting rankings, but the recent hot streak now has the SEC powerhouse ranked No. 8 in the country per 247Sports.
Could the Tide make even more of a leap in the rankings in the coming days? As most of you know by now, 5-star WR Cederian Morgan is announcing on Wednesday, July 2 and this is a showdown between Alabama and Auburn. The Tide are in a great spot to add yet another 5-star to the class. Regardless of if that happens or not, fans should be quite excited about Cabell locking things down with Bama.
