It's kinda getting sad at this point, isn't it?

Alabama is just owning Auburn across all athletics in the 2025-26 academic year.

It started with football's 27-20 road win in the Iron Bowl to capture its sixth straight win over the rival Tigers. It extended into basketball season with Nate Oats and the Crimson Tide sweeping the two matchups against Steven Pearl and Auburn.

To add more insult to injury, Alabama swept Auburn in both baseball and softball this spring, too.

On Monday, Alabama rubbed more salt in the gaping elephant-sized wound of the Tigers by flipping 5-star Auburn gymnastics commit Elizaveta Grebenkova, the No. 1 recruit in the 2027 recruiting class.

Gymnastics head coach Ashley Johnson has been tasked with restoring Bama Gym to the Sarah Patterson glory days, which included six national championships. Patterson retired following the 2014 season, and while the Crimson Tide has remained a top-tier program, it hasn't come close to those heights again.

Johnson just completed her third season as the coach and has Alabama trending upward again. Grebenkova represents a massive recruiting win for Johnson, not just because she's one of the biggest recruits in program history, but because she scored the win over rival Auburn while doing so.

Grebenkova originally committed to Auburn under head coach Jeff Graba, but after the Tigers and Graba mutually agreed to part ways after the season, it opened the door for Johnson and the Crimson Tide to come in and steal away the nation's top recruit.

Auburn hired former Alabama assistant Ryan Roberts to take over for Graba, but Roberts couldn't secure Grebenkova.

Grebenkova is originally from Russia but attends high school in Texas. She is set to graduate as part of the 2027 class and should join Johnson and the Crimson Tide for the 2028 season.
