Predicting the 2026 Alabama Crimson Tide almost runs a full gamut of extremes. Based on win-loss projections. Alabama could go from 7-5 to 11-1 in the regular season. In this 'the Playoff is everything' era, what the Crimson Tide needs is a repeat of last season's 10-2 regular season record. A 9-3 record might not be enough to make the Playoff field without a win in the SEC Championship Game.

Josh Pate recently said that if everything comes together for Alabama, the Crimson Tide has the talent to be a national championship contender. Joel Klatt has a much different opinion. According to Klatt, Alabama is "on a trajectory that is down, and I don’t think that that is going to stop. They have to level out at some point in order to start going back up. But, I don’t sense that moment of them leveling out. ... I don’t see this team turning it around…I don’t love what’s going on going on down there."

Alabama football fans will likely ignore Klatt and gain confidence from Pate's take. Even optimistic Crimson Tide fans must consider that another tough schedule makes predictions difficult.

Still, predictions thrive as fans try to endure offseasons. For their entertainment value, let's consider some doozies.

KSR (Kentucky Sports Radio) recently predicted the Wildcats would upset the Crimson Tide in Lexington. The site claims that Alabama will go into the game blind about Kentucky's new offense and that Will Stein's offensive wizardry will be too much for the Tide.

Alabama Crimson Tide fans are wary

A quick reaction is that the KSR prediction is unsensibly bold, but Alabama's Crimson and White predicts "expect this matchup to be a one-score game that is close throughout and at times ugly for the Crimson Tide as it tries to figure things out."

The most outlandish, bold prediction of all comes from Brandon Marcello of CBS Sports. Marcello predicts Mississippi State will upset Alabama in Starkville. What makes the prediction the most outlandish of the offseason is that Marcello also projects the Crimson Tide will "exceed expectations" and finish with 10 or 11 wins. Marcello also calls the Kentucky Wildcats the "most dangerous underdog" in the SEC. Maybe that claim is sound, but there is no way Alabama loses to the cowbells and wins 10 or 11 games.
