Alabama football is in the College Football Playoff

Alabama didn't do itself any favors in Saturday's SEC Championship Game, suffering a disheartening 28-7 defeat against Georgia that threatened to potentially knock it out of the College Football Playoff.

As it turned out, the loss was completely inconsequential. Alabama came into the weekend ranked No. 9, and even after a three-touchdown loss, it remained No. 9 in the College Football Playoff committee's final rankings.

That means Alabama will open the playoff on the road against No. 8 Oklahoma in Norman on Friday, December 19th, in a rematch of the mid-November matchup in Tuscaloosa that the Crimson Tide lost by two.

As you might expect, fans (and media) across the country are crashing out about Alabama making the playoff despite a multi-score loss to Georgia in Atlanta. The same folks who were adamant a year ago that SMU shouldn't fall out of the playoff for losing the ACC Championship Game - to Alabama's detriment - are now arguing that the Crimson Tide should have fallen for having to play an extra game.

The committee was consistent year over year in how they handled these situations. But Alabama haters are incapable of using rational arguments and are consistently blinded by their hate. I'll leave it with the immortal words of Malachi Moore: If they ain't wearing Crimson...

Alabama basketball bludgeons UTSA 97-55

Alabama men's basketball cruised to an easy 97-55 win over UTSA on Sunday. Playing again without Aden Holloway and Keitenn Bristow, along with a late scratch for Taylor Bol Bowen, the Crimson Tide had little issue in Coleman Coliseum.

Latrell Wrightsell made his return after missing four games, though he struggled with his shot as he knocked off the rust. Jalil Bethea got his first consistent run after limited minutes in his debut against Clemson, and he didn't disappoint. The Miami transfer scored 21 points in 22 minutes of play.

Labaron Philon continues to look like one of the best players in the country. The sophomore sensation put up 20/7/6 in just 22 minutes.

Alabama moved to 7-2 on the season with the win and now gears up for a massive showdown in Birmingham on Saturday against potentially No. 1-ranked Arizona.

Alabama women's basketball stays perfect, routs UL Monroe

Kristy Curry's team just keeps on winning. After Sunday's 75-38 win over UL Monroe, the women's team is now 10-0 for the first time in program history. The Crimson Tide got it done without star forward Essence Cody, and it was the defense that once again ruled the day. Alabama held UL Monroe to under 33% from the floor and didn't allow a single three-pointer.

Jessica Timmons led the way with 17 points, but Alabama had four finish in double figuers in what Curry called a balanced effort.

Alabama will now take a week off before facing Jackson State in Tuscaloosa next Sunday.
