Alabama Crimson Tide news and notes:

5 Alabama starters remain questionable for LSU this weekend

Alabama's initial injury report on Wednesday night brought more questions than answers. Five Alabama starters were listed as questionable: WR Ryan Coleman-Williams, C Racin Delgatty, LG Will Sanders, DT Terrance Green, and CB Zabien Brown. Star freshman RB EJ Crowell was also listed as questionable, as was AK Dear.

On Thursday, the only changes were the additions of backup linemen Casey Poe and Jared Graham, both listed as "out." The five starters plus Crowell and Dear remained on the questionable list.

There remains optimism that some, if not most, of those players listed as questionable will ultimately be able to give it a go on Saturday afternoon in Baton Rouge. It's fair to wonder how effective they might be, however, as they're clearly still less than 100%.

Alabama women's basketball wins three games in four days to start Pauline Love era

The Pauline Love era is off to a hot start with an unusual schedule. Alabama opened the season with three games in four days, but earned blowout wins over overmatched opponents.

Alabama opened on Monday against Queens, rolling to a 92-56 win. They were back in Coleman for back-to-back games on Wednesday and Thursday night. On Wednesday, the Crimson Tide throttled New Orleans 118-45 before blowing out Alabama A&M 96-43 on Thursday.

It has been a balanced attack for the Tide through three games with five players avearging double-digits in scoring and a sixth close behind.

Kylie Torrence (15.7), Alayna West (13.7), Ace Austin (12.3), Amirah Anderson (12.0), and Mykelle Richards (10.7) are all in double-figures. Aaliyah Roberson is almost there at 9.7 points per game.

Love will take her team on the road for the next two games. Alabama faces Tulane in New Orleans on Sunday before traveling to Memphis next Thursday.

Nate Oats on the verge of landing another Top 100 prospect

A week after landing 5-star PF Zion Green - the second 5-star in Alabama's 2027 recruiting class - Nate Oats could be on the verge of landing another Top 100 player.

4-star center Yohane Kabongo, an athletic 6-foot-9 big man, will make his college announcement on Sunday afternoon and has Alabama among a trio of finalists.

Alabama is a finalist alongside Mississippi State and Tennessee, with most experts believing it's a Tide and Bulldogs battle down the stretch.

Alongside Green, Alabama already has 5-star combo guard Chase Lumpkin in a class that ranks in the Top 10 nationally. Adding Kabongo would likely be enough to send the class inside the Top 5.
