It's Iron Bowl week for Alabama football which is dominating the news cycle, but there's still plenty of news otherwise.

The recruiting cycle has heated up with Early Signing Day right around the corner. Alabama got some good news on the recruiting trail on Tuesday.

And while all eyes have been on Alabama Men's Basketball as they opened the season ranked No. 2 in the country, Kristi Curry currently has the women's team rolling.

Women's Basketball wins the Emerald Coast Classic

Don't look now, but Alabama Women's Basketball is currently 8-0 and ranked No. 23 in the AP Poll. On Tuesday, Alabama blew out Clemson 73-39 to win the Emerald Coast Classic in Niceville, Florida. Alabama routed Alabama State by 50 points on Monday on the opening day of the tournament.

The Crimson Tide hasn't exactly faced a murderer's row schedule far with Clemson being the first Power-4 team it has faced, but 8-0 is 8-0.

Curry came to Tuscaloosa and had a massive rebuilding job on her hands after successful tenures at both Purdue and Texas Tech. She now has some momentum brewing at Alabama with back-to-back NCAA Tournament berths and this team ranking 23rd in the AP Poll and undefeated through eight games.

Alabama lands commitment from 2027 ATH

2027 athlete Alexander Ward from Marietta, Georgia announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide on Tuesday.

Ward is currently unranked in the 247 composite rankings, but he boasts an impressive list of offers that included Georgia, Auburn, Florida State, and South Carolina.

Obviously, there's a long time to go between now and 2027 National Signing Day, but Kalen DeBoer and staff are building some nice momentum for 2027 with three prospects committed already.

Alabama lands 2nd RB commitment of 2025

The staff was looking for a second running back in this class to join 4-star AK Dear. In-state Anthony Rogers recently decommitted and was never a priority for the new coaching staff after initially committing to Nick Saban.

On Tuesday, 3-star RB Jace Clarizio flipped his commitment from Michigan State to Alabama. The Spartans and the Crimson Tide are Clarizio's only Power-4 offers, but the staff was impressed enough with his senior tape to extend a late offer, get him on campus, and extend a scholarship offer.

Clarizio figures to be a developmental back while Dear is expected to compete for playing time as soon as he gets to Tuscaloosa.
