Alabama extends offer to fast-rising Cal commitment after standout camp performance

The offensive line has not been a priority position group for Alabama in the 2027 recruiting class, much to the concern of Crimson Tide fans. Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide brought in 11 new offensive linemen between the high school and the Transfer Portal this past offseason, all of whom have multiple seasons of eligibility remaining.

It's not a priority position group in this cycle because the room is full, and the priority will be retaining the guys they just signed for more than one season to ensure organic growth. That doesn't mean Alabama won't sign any offensive linemen, but they aren't going to spend big money on a high school lineman in this cycle.

They're still going to browse through the bargain bin, however, in hopes of uncovering a gem that someone overlooked. That gem could be 3-star OT Amaziah Siale from Mission Viejo, California, the same high school that produced star rising sophomore Dijon Lee.

Siale is a 3-star prospect and ranked as the No. 611 player in the 247 composite, but he's likely going to shoot up the board after recent performances at camps. He camped at Alabama this week, delivering an eye-opening performance that led to an official offer from the Crimson Tide:

Alabama offers Amaziah Siale after eye-opening camp performance

There's a reason Siale used a photo of Kadyn Proctor. That's probably who he reminded the coaching staff of in person. He's a mammoth-sized offensive tackle at 6-foot-6 and 360 pounds. His athleticism reportedly stood out while he was in Tuscaloosa.

Siale has flown under the radar during this recruiting class, mainly due to the fact that he sat out his junior season after moving from Hawaii to California due to California transfer rules. He's not going to fly under the radar for much longer, however, and Alabama isn't the only team that is noticing.

Siale committed to Cal at the beginning of the month, but his recruitment has begun blowing up since then. Siale has traveled all over the country attending camps, sparking offers from Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois, LSU, and now Alabama.

There will be an aggressive push by Alabama and others to try to get him on campus for an official visit this summer. If that doesn't work, then the push will continue to get him on campus for a game this fall, and this is a recruitment that could go all the way to the early signing period in December.

It's noteworthy that Siale has received these offers from several top-tier programs recently, after a closer, in-person review. He's clearly a prospect who flew under the radar for too long, and it won't be a surprise to see him shoot up the rankings in the coming months, especially once he's able to begin his senior season on the field.
