You've just got to be kidding at this point. Things have been downright disappointing for the Alabama football team, with the Week 1 loss to Florida State being a gut punch no one saw coming. Well, another hit has come for Kalen DeBoer, this time on defense.

Things were bad enough with Tim Keenan already being banged up. On Wednesday, though, freshman defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman got hurt at practice and it turned out to be a serious knee injury. So much in fact, DeBoer announced moments ago that he now expects Beaman to be lost for the rest of the 2025 season. This is just brutal news for the Tide:

Jeremiah Beaman Injury Update: Alabama DL expected to be out for the season after getting hurt at practice

Where's the luck for this team? The fact that this was a freak injury suffered at practice just makes things worse overall for the Tide. Beaman worked his tail off this summer and with Keenan being hurt, it opened the door for him to start against Florida State.

He's an exciting young talent and he was ready to make a difference for DeBoer and Alabama from start to finish this year. Now, Beaman's campaign is over before it could really even get started. You've really got to feel terrible for the young man.

Keenan is dealing with an ankle injury, which forced him to miss the season-opener at FSU. The massive DT won't be ready for Week 2, but DeBoer said that he's hopeful his talented DT will be able to get back on the field for Week 3 against Wisconsin.

With him being out for the weekend, and Beaman also set to be out of action, it will now open the door for Isaia Faga and London Simmons to get more work in on the inside. Getting Keenan back as soon as possible is going to be crucial for the Tide. As for Beaman, you know this has to be an awful feeling for him, especially with the hype surrounding his name for '25. He'll now look to get going as soon as he can with his rehab to make sure he'll be good to go for Week 1 next summer.
