It's Ty's time.
According to multiple reports, Kalen DeBoer is set to announce Ty Simpson has won Alabama football's starting QB job:

Simpson has served as a backup for the Crimson Tide the last three seasons, but with Jalen Milroe moving on to the NFL, he was the overwhelming favorite to win the starting job. He exited spring practice ahead of redshirt sophomore Austin Mack and true freshman Keelon Russell, and nothing has changed through the first two weeks of fall camp.
After a strong performance in Saturday's scrimmage, as reported by former Tide QB Greg McElroy, it seemed inevitable that Simpson would be named the team's starting QB. DeBoer said after the scrimmage that he anticipated naming a starter by the time of next Saturday's second scrimmage. It appears he saw all he needed to see.
Now, with less than three weeks separating Alabama's season opener in Tallahassee against Florida State, the team has clarity on the starting QB and can start giving more targeted reps to Simpson as they prepare for the Seminoles.
Ty Simpson as the starter is the correct choice by DeBoer, Ryan Grubb
Mack and Russell are good quarterbacks with bright futures. Russell is the future of the position, but Simpson gives Alabama the best chance to win right now. He has done and said all the right things throughout this process. He has earned the right to be the starter.
Simpson waited his turn in an era where most would have tucked and run. He could have started elsewhere last season, but chose to stay in Tuscaloosa and trusted the process.
He now steps into the driver's seat of a ready-made contender. The biggest question mark about this Alabama team heading into year two of the DeBoer era is at QB. They have everything else they need. Top-to-bottom, this is one of the two or three best rosters in the country. If Simpson can be steady - not even great - this is a legitimate contender. If he can pull a Mac Jones and become one of the best quarterbacks in the country, then this could be a truly dominant National Championship team.
