Alabama football had been rumored to be the favorite to flip 4-star LSU WR commitment Derek Meadows for the last couple of weeks following Michigan flipping Bryce Underwood, the nation's No. 1 recruit, away from LSU.
On Wednesday night during a signing ceremony at his high school at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, Meadows made the flip official by signing with Alabama. There was little drama as Meadows arrived to the signing ceremony decked out in Alabama gear.
Meadows is one of the most intriguing WR prospects in the country. At 6-foot-6 and 205 pounds, Meadows has the potential to be a matchup nightmare at the next level. He is a raw prospect, but WR coach JaMarcus Shepherd is one of the best WR coaches in the country and I'm sure he's excited to get his hands on him.
Meadows flipping is a huge recruiting win for Kalen DeBoer and company. Alabama lost 4-star Caleb Cunningham a few weeks ago as he flipped to Ole Miss following a visit to Oxford. His flip left Alabama scrambling a bit, but they had kept in contact with Meadows and ultimately were able to convince him to come to Tuscaloosa instead of Baton Rouge.
Meadows' committing to Alabama moved the Crimson Tide up to the No. 2 overall class according to On3. An impressive group of prospects are heading to Tuscaloosa as DeBoer puts a bow on his first signing class at Alabama.
