Officially, Fall Camp for Alabama Football starts on Wednesday. Unoffically, camp preparations began on Monday. Also unofficially, there will be no official depth chart released on Wednesday. Comments about depth charts, including those from coaches, will not mean much until at least the first fall scrimmage occurs.
Based on information gained throughout the offseason, a Fall Camp Day One Depth Chart is provided below. Projected starters are shown in bold text.
Alabama Football Offense
- Quarterback - Ty Simpson; QB2 Austin Mack or Keelon Russell
- Running Back - Based on four-man rotation (in order, but used situationally, as well) Jam Miller; Richard Young; Daniel Hill; Dre Washington
- Wide Receiver - Germie Bernard, Ryan Williams, and Isaiah Horton; WR4 Cole Adams or Jalen Hale or Rico Scott. Potential breakout players: Jaylen Mbakwe and Lotzeir Brooks
- Tight End - Josh Cuevas Rotation Tight Ends: Danny Lewis Jr., Brody Dalton, and Jay Lindsey. Potential breakout player: freshman Kaleb Edwards
- Left Tackle - Kadyn Proctor; Left Guard - Kam Dewberry or Geno VanDeMark; Center - Parker Brailsford; Right Guard - Jaeden Roberts; Right Tackle - Wilkin Formby. For a detailed review of backup options, click here.
Alabama Crimson Tide Defense
- Bandit - LT Overton; Rotation Bandits: Jordan Renaud and Kelby Collins. Potential breakout player: Keon Keeley
- Defensive Tackles - Tim Keenan III and James Smith; Rotation DTs: Edric Hill and Jeremiah Beaman. Kelby Collins is also expected to play on the inside. One more less experienced DT will hopefully progress into the rotation.
- Wolf Linebacker - Qua Russaw; Rotation players: Jah-Marien Latham and Yhonzae Pierre; Potential breakout player: Justin Hill
- Mike and Sting Linebacker - Mike: Deontae Lawson; Backup Justin Jefferson; Sting: Justin Jefferson; Key backup: Nikhai Hill-Green. Depth is expected to come from one or two of the following: Cayden Jones, Abduall Sanders, QB Reese, and perhaps one of the freshmen
- Cornerbacks - Domani Jackson, Zabien Brown; Rotational player: Cam Calhoun; Potential breakout player: freshman Dijon Lee
- Husky - DaShawn Jones or Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. Cam Calhoun could also have a role
- Safety - Keon Sabb and Bray Hubbard; Key Backups: Zay Mincey and Dre Kirkpatrick Jr.; Potential breakout player: Ivan Taylor
- Special Teams - Kicker: Conor Talty; Punter: Blake Doud or Alex Asparuhov; Returner: Jaylen Mbakwe; Long Snapper: David Bird; Holder: Blake Doud
