Alabama football is having little trouble dispatching FCS Eastern Illinois on Saturday, building a 28-0 lead at halftime. The Alabama football social media account is having fun with it, trolling the College Football Playoff committee with subtle jabs throughout the game.

Arkansas AD Hunter Yurachek - the new CFP committee chairman - criticized the Crimson Tide and defended the ridiculous six-spot drop in this week's rankings in part because....Alabama struggled running the football.

It's clear that the message was received in Tuscaloosa. Alabama ran the football 22 times in the first half against Eastern Illinois, producing 121 yards and four rushing touchdowns. It was the most prolific rushing half of the season for Alabama.

Alabama's social team is making sure the committee sees it:

Alabama is putting the run game at the forefront to appease the CFP committee

Apparently, running the football is a key metric for the committee this season, so Alabama is ensuring they do that moving forward.

Four different running backs got carries for the Tide in the first half. Jam Miller was the leading rusher with 11 carries for 62 yards and a touchdown. Kevin Riley has seen consistent work in the first half, putting up 23 yards on five carries with the first two rushing touchdowns of his career.

Daniel Hill has only carried the ball twice, but picked up 14 yards and a couple of scores. Alabama will probably need Hill to carry a massive workload next week in the Iron Bowl, so they won't put as much on his plate today.

Freshman AK Dear is likely to see a heavy diet in the second half. Dear carried the ball once in the first half for four yards. He should be the focal point of the offense over the final 30 minutes and could potentially earn a bigger role moving forward.

Hopefully, Alabama's first-half rushing performance will be enough to impress the committee this week. It's no longer about winning games - it's about how well you run the football.

DeBoer and OC Ryan Grubb have realized that and are changing the scheme accordingly.
