Fresh off its most complete game of the season, a 31-point shellacking of South Carolina in Tuscaloosa, Alabama hits the road for the short drive up Highway 82 to face its most difficult challenge to date against Mississippi State in Starkville.
The Bulldogs enter the game with an identical 4-0 record as the Crimson Tide after a close home win over Missouri last week. They've beaten two additional Power Four opponents, earning road wins at Minnesota and at South Carolina.
Led by star QB Kamario Taylor, Mississippi State presents a plethora of problems for Alabama.
But Keelon Russell and the Crimson Tide have found the answers to the test questions in all four games so far. This one will prove to be the most difficult of the young season, but a win in Starkville would position Alabama incredibly well in the College Football Playoff race.

This will be the 109th all-time meeting between Alabama and Mississippi State. The Crimson Tide has played no team in college football more than it has played the Bulldogs. It will be the first meeting between the two since 2023, however, but the annual series should be all set again with Alabama and Mississippi State being one of the other's three permanent SEC opponents moving forward.
Alabama has dominated the series, racking up an 88-17-3 all-time record against Mississippi State. That encompasses a current 16-game winning streak, with the last win in the series for the Bulldogs coming in 2007. Only two of those 16 matchups were decided by a single score, with Alabama typically winning by a large margin.
The last meeting was also in Starkville back in 2023, with Nick Saban leading Alabama to a 40-17 win. This is Kalen DeBoer's first game against State.
