Alabama fans have had plenty of reason to celebrate recently. The Tide's recent run on the recruiting trail has been incredible, with head coach Kalen DeBoer and GM Courtney Morgan leading a summer run that would make Nick Saban jealous.
Alabama entered the summer with just five commitments, but is up to 19 now and has seen its class rise from the mid-50s in the team rankings all the way into the top five. Of Alabama's 19 commitments, they lead the nation with five committed 5-stars.
Alabama may not have the quantity that some schools have, but their quality is unmatched so far in the 2026 cycle. And they aren't done yet, with several high-profile targets still remaining on the board.
While it's okay to celebrate the recent run of success, it's also important to remember how fluid recruiting is. It's also important to remember that we are still over five months away from the early signing period when the Tide can lock in this loaded recruiting class.
Alabama fans can rest easy knowing that isn't lost on Courtney Morgan, who is keeping his focus on maintaining the guys already committed to the Crimson Tide over the next five months:

“To us, it’s really not over until it’s over. It’s good momentum but we also know we have to keep them until December.”

You can bet that other schools will not stop recruiting those committed to the Crimson Tide. Some desperate schools who are way behind in this year's class - think Auburn - could also throw a ton of money at a guy or two to try and save face during this cycle.
DeBoer and his staff have done incredibly well to get to this point, but recruiting never ends.
Alabama's success - or lack thereof - in 2025 could directly impact the 2026 class
If you follow recruiting, you are bound to have seen a common theme discussed among the players committed to the Crimson Tide. They've been pitched about getting back to the Alabama standard and winning National Championships.
For the current crop of teenagers, they've never known Alabama as anything but a dominating force in college football. It's clear they are all ready to accept that last year's disappointing 9-4 campaign was a minor blimp on the radar, and the Crimson Tide will get back to its dominant ways in 2025.
But we are vastly approaching the show don't tell portion of the year. It's about to be put-up or shut-up time for DeBoer and company, and if Alabama flops and once again misses the College Football Playoff, hot-seat talk will ramp up around DeBoer and this coaching staff, which could undoubtedly have a negative impact on this recruiting class.
DeBoer already snapped one longstanding streak in his first year as the Alabama coach. For the first time in 17 years, Alabama failed to win 10 games. If the Tide misses the playoff again in 2025, it would be the first time in the playoff era that Alabama misses the playoff for two consecutive seasons.
