You've really got to give it to Alabama football head coach Kalen DeBoer for what he's been able to get done out on the recruiting trail of late. The Tide have been making plenty of noise with 2026 recruits and now it's looking like another touted prospect is going to announce he'll be Tuscaloosa-bound.

In some breaking news, it was revealed via insider Steve Wiltfong that 4-star quarterback and Utah product Tayden Kaawa is going to shut down his recruitment on Monday. Not only that, but multiple predictions have come in for Alabama and Co. to land him. Is a monster update on the way for the Tide?

4-star QB Tayden Kaawa is expected to commit to Alabama football on Monday

We don't have to tell you that this would be an exciting get for the program. Per Rivals, Kaawa is ranked four stars and the No. 13 quarterback in the country. He's picked up 18 offers throughout his recruitment, but he's down to Alabama, BYU and Boise State.

Should the youngster commit to Alabama, it would give DeBoer a second 4-star quarterback commit for the '26 class. Earlier this offseason, playmaker Jett Thomalla flipped his commitment from Iowa State to the Tide.

Thomalla is a stud QB as well, ranked the No. 21 signal-caller in the country by Rivals and the No. 1 prospect overall for the state of Nebraska. As soon as Alabama put an offer on the table for him, the expectation was that he'd tell Iowa State his future was going to be in the SEC instead.

That's exactly what happened. Soon enough, we'll find out if Kaawa also informs DeBoer that he'll be playing his college ball for him. All signs are pointing to Kaawa giving DeBoer and his staff the news they're hoping for. At this point, it'd be a bit of a shock if the touted QB doesn't commit to Alabama, but we'll know for sure on Monday.
