The final recruiting weekend of the summer is looking like a resounding success for Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Alabama landed a commitment already from DL JJ Finch on Sunday. Shortly after that, predictions rolled in for three more commitments: WR Owen Cabell, RB Javari Barnett, and S Rihyael Kelley. All three of them were in Tuscaloosa over the weekend.

4-star OL commit Chris Booker also announced he would be shutting down his recruitment and was locked in with the Crimson Tide.

But those were just the appetizers for the main course that arrived on Sunday night. 5-star WR Cederian Morgan, the No. 1 player in the state of Alabama, was predicted to land with the Crimson Tide:

Morgan has been seen as an Alabama lean for some time, but he took visits to Colorado, Auburn, Florida, and Georgia before finishing out his schedule in Tuscaloosa this weekend.

Morgan is ranked as the No. 2 WR in the composite rankings. He's coming off a terrific junior season at Benjamin Russell, where he caught 70 passes for 1162 yards and 14 touchdowns.

He is set to make his decision on July 2nd.

Kalen DeBoer's big in-state push for 2026 is paying off

Alabama already has a commitment from 4-star CB Zyan Gibson, the No. 4 player in the state. Gibson was joined in Tuscaloosa over the weekend by the three players ranked higher than him in the state rankings.

Cederian Morgan is the consensus top player in the state, and with his prediction to Alabama, things are trending heavily for a monster in-state class by DeBoer.

RB Ezavier Crowell and EDGE Anthony "Tank" Jones were also in town over the weekend, and Alabama is in a good spot for both of them, too.

Crowell's commitment is on the horizon. He's scheduled to commit on June 26th, and while there hasn't been any official predictions come in on him yet, he's long been considered a Crimson Tide lean and it would be a shocker if he chose to go anywhere else.

The one most up in the air at the moment is Jones, but Alabama did everything it could this weekend to push for the 5-star. Jones took visits to Auburn, Miami, Texas A&M, and Oregon. The Aggies and Ducks have been seen as the biggest competition for Jones.

After a disappointing in-state cycle in 2025, DeBoer has clearly made it a priority to bounce back in the state of Alabama in 2026. If he can add Morgan, Crowell, and Jones to a class that already includes Gibson, it will serve notice to Auburn, and the rest of the country competing to crack into the state of Alabama, that DeBoer has locked down the borders.
