The anger following the loss to Alabama in Tuscaloosa reached new levels for a lot of different people. However, things took an unfortunate turn when several videos went viral of a livid Alabama fan slapping Raylen Wilson across his helmet at the end of the game. Wilson was celebrating with his teammates, but then the Bama supporter let his emotions get the best of him.

With that, the Crimson Tide were able to not only identify who was caught red-handed on video, but they've also taken 'appropriate action' against him. According to a report from UGA Sports, too, the punishment includes a lifetime ban from attending all future Tide sports events in the future. Whoa.

"Alabama has identified and taken appropriate action against the individual involved in videos circulating on social media following Saturday night’s football game," Crimson Tide athletics said in a statement. "We take matters of this nature seriously and will not tolerate this behavior."

Alabama delivers a lifetime ban to angry fan who hit Raylen Wilson in Week 6

This is just an unfortunate outcome to what was a fantastic football game. Whenever Georgia and Alabama face off, it's always going to be a heated battle, which is exactly what we saw in Tuscaloosa over the weekend. However, there's simply no defending fans going after student-athletes, especially in the manner that things went down here.

Again, we understand that tensions are going to be high after this kind of SEC fight, but fans in the stands have to have better control of their anger. Insulting a Georgia player and hitting him? It can never happen, period.

Wilson said on social media that he thought it was a Georgia fan trying to show him some love, but things quickly turned ugly. Several different angles of the incident have made their way to social media, and all of them are a bad look for everyone involved.

At the end of the day, Georgia was able to celebrate the thrilling victory, while the Crimson Tide suffered their first loss of the season. Come this weekend, Bama will look to get back on track on the road in Knoxville, as the No. 14 Vols are ready to host Bama for the Third Saturday in October dance.

Alabama is favored by 7.5 points, with Keelon Russell and Co. eyeing their sixth win of the season. After that, this group will return home for an Oct. 24 matchup with the struggling Texas A&M Aggies. The stands will be packed at Denny-Bryant for that one, but we know for sure at least one person who was probably planning on making his way to the stadium won't be on hand. Call it a lesson learned for hitting Wilson, and now paying the consequences for it.
