Kalen DeBoer promised big changes after Thursday's humilating loss to Indiana in the Rose Bowl and those changes will have to include the roster. Alabama is in need of more star power, more top-end talent and players that can change the course of a game with one play.

Enter wide receiver Cam Coleman. The number one receiver in the transfer portal is planning a visit to Tuscaloosa as he looks to find his next home

Alabama will have a regional advantage with Coleman, a former five-star prospect from Phenix City, and the Crimson Tide are in desperate need of more playmakers.

Coleman has been the definition of a playmaker since he got to college. The rising junior has 93 catches for 1,308 yards and 13 touchdowns in two seasons. As one of the top, if not the top, offensive skill player in the portal, Coleman has an active market of suitors, each looking to build a championship roster for 2026.

Alabama could have the top receiving duo in the country

With Ryan Williams already in the fold, Alabama has one of the best receivers in the country. Williams, a sophomore, didn't have the season he wanted and some of that can be attributed to injuries and the added attention the former Freshman All-American received after his breakout season in 2024.

If Alabama could get Coleman into the fold, it would be a classic case of pick your poison, because most wouldn't be able to cover both players. Coleman has elite skills as an outside receiver and with him on the field it would allow Williams to move around in search of mismatches.

All the big guns are after Coleman

Competition for a player of Coleman's caliber is going to be fierce. Texas and USC are expected to receive visits as well and both are in need of a No. 1 receiver.

This is going to be a huge test for DeBoer and the Alabama staff. They can no longer sit around and expect top players to come to Tuscaloosa because of the dynasty run during the Saban years. If Alabama is going to avoid similar fates to the one it faced Thursday, more top-end talent is needed on the roster.

Coleman would be a great start and DeBoer needs to bring him home.
