With a decision likely just around the corner, Alabama remains in the mix for the nation's No. 1 QB in the 2027 cycle, 5-star Elijah Haven from Baton Rouge.
On3's Hayes Fawcett reported on Friday night that Haven was down to four schools, and the Crimson Tide was one of those four. Perhaps most notable was the team that was NOT included in his final group.

Kalen DeBoer and Alabama make the final four for 5-star QB Elijah Haven
Alabama has been near the top for Haven for quite some time. Predictions have been in favor of the Tide since October, but there's still a long way to go between now and the early signing period for the 2027 class in December.
The Baton Rouge native not including LSU in his final four schools is notable. Following Brian Kelly's ousting and Lane Kiffin's hire for the Tigers, many expected LSU to put on the full-court press to keep Haven home.
Again, it's a long time until December, and the Tigers will likely circle back, but for now, Alabama sits in a good spot.
The area of concern would be that the three other schools in his top four might offer a quicker path to being the starter. Alabama signed Keelon Russell in the 2025 class, and he'll be a redshirt sophomore when Haven is a true freshman. Alabama also signed a Top 50 overall player in the 2026 class at QB in Nebraska's Jett Thomalla.
Georgia watched as their future at QB - Jared Curtis- flipped to Vanderbilt during the early signing period.
And while Auburn landed USF's Byrum Brown in the Transfer Portal, this will be his final season of eligibility, opening the door for Haven.
But Alabama's history of QB development is something that stands out for the 5-star QB, and that could be what ultimately wins the day for the Crimson Tide in what would be another signature victory on the recruiting trail for Kalen DeBoer.
