Alabama right where they need to be as they enter the bye week

The bye week has started, and Alabama is right where they need to be. Ty Simpson is evolving into the leader that is needed, the defense is playing up to expectations, and the prolific offense that we all anticipated to see under Ryan Grubb is starting to emerge. Of course, people will say of course, they look up to par against the likes of Louisiana Monroe and Wisconsin, but it is not based on the winning margin but the energy that has been in the program since the week 1debacle.

Germie Bernard continues to show his consistency, scoring touchdowns in different ways. Ryan Williams showed signs of himself against the Badgers after a lackluster start to his season, and the cherry on top is that the defense is starting to live up to expectations. Forcing turnovers, getting sacks, and setting the tone of the game have been the staples of the defense since Tallahassee. Now the question is how they will look against a Georgia offense that found itself against Tennessee.

The beauty of the bye week also allows more time for the likes of Jam Miller, Tim Keenon, and LT Overton to possibly be healthy enough for the Georgia game. All three could have very big parts of next Saturday night's game. The bye week should allow everyone to re-energize and build on the positive momentum that has taken over the program. I expect when Georgia punches them in the mouth, the response and counter punch will be much along the lines of what is expected with this football program

You would have to think the offensive staff has to be licking their chops, considering how vulnerable Georgia looks in the secondary. To have an extra week to scheme and plan ways to exploit the Bulldog's backend should have Tide fans excited and amped. I know the woes on the road are fresh in everyone's mind, but there is a different feel around this team. I am confident that no matter how next week's game goes or any other game this season, there will not be a lack of effort or energy.
