It's going to be a big recruiting weekend for Kalen DeBoer and Alabama as they prepare for a pivotal Junior Day that will set the stage for what could be his best class yet.
After back-to-back Top 5 recruiting classes in his first two cycles as the Crimson Tide's head coach, the 2027 class could ultimately prove to be his best one yet.
The 2027 class currently ranks No. 12 in the 247 composite with four commitments, but the work is just now really getting started in this cycle. DeBoer and company will use this weekend to lay the groundwork for what should be a busy summer on the trail, with plenty of visits and commitments to come.
While there will be quite a few blue-chip prospects on campus this weekend for Junior Day, none will be bigger than a duo that could represent Alabama's next great QB-WR pairing. From Bryce Young and Jameson Williams to Mac Jones and Devonta Smith to Tua Tagovailoa and Jerry Jeudy and so on, the Crimson Tide has an illustrious history of elite QB-WR duos.
5-star QB Elijah Haven and 5-star WR Monshun Sales could have next in Tuscaloosa.
Elijah Haven and Monshun Sales could be the next great duo at Alabama
Haven and Sales are two of the top players at their respective positions in the 2027 class.
Haven is ranked as the No. 2 QB in the composite, and the Baton Rouge native has been trending toward the Crimson Tide for a couple of months. He's expected to be the first big domino to fall, with his commitment expected next month. Alabama is among the four teams remaining for his services, joined by SEC rivals Auburn, Georgia, and Florida.
Sales is the No. 2 WR in the composite - and ranked as a Top 10 overall prospect - and is an Alabama native and lifelong fan who plays high school in Indianapolis. Indiana's recent surge on the gridiron, culminating in winning the National Championship, could complicate things in the pursuit of Sales for Alabama, but DeBoer and company still sit in a good position. Ohio State is another contender in what is shaping up to be a three-horse race for his signature.
Haven and Sales will get the opportunity to connect in Tuscaloosa this weekend, and you can bet that DeBoer and the Alabama offensive staff will put the bug in their ear about playing together at the Capstone.
Landing Haven and Sales both would put the Crimson Tide in position to sign a third consecutive Top 5 high school class, potentially catapulting them toward the top spot.
