The No. 1 goal of spring practices is to get out of them relatively injury-free. You're always going to have bumps and bruises, nicks and scratches. It's football after all. But you hope to avoid the devastating ones that can linger into the fall.

Unfortunately, Alabama may have suffered a major injury blow during A-Day.

NC State transfer WR Noah Rogers, who had earned a plethora of praise during spring practice, went down with an injury during the A-Day scrimmage. He was unable to put any weight on his left leg and was ultimately carted to the locker room:

Rogers has seemed like the clear-cut No. 3 WR for Alabama during the spring, separating himself from the pack to earn a starting spot next to Ryan Coleman-Williams and Lotzeir Brooks.

The NC State transfer is a former Top 40 recruit who produced 919 yards and three touchdowns over his two seasons with the Wolfpack. He seemed to be positioned to play a major role in the Crimson Tide's offense in 2026, and hopefully, this injury isn't something that is going to be long-term.

Alabama has some quality depth at the WR spot with returning players Rico Scott and Derek Meadows to go along with promising freshman 4-star Cederian Morgan.

This is a tough break for Rogers, who appeared ready to make good on the promise of his significant talent. Losing an expected contributor during spring practice for what could be a long-term injury is never good news.

DeBoer said after the scrimmage that Rogers was set for an MRI and that they'll have more information as they go through spring and summer. If it is a long-term injury, hopefully it's something that won't bleed over into the fall and Rogers is able to receover in time to compete in fall compete and be ready for Week 1 in September.
