Alabama trending heavily for playmaking 5-star WR in the 2026 class

Kalen DeBoer and Alabama have seemingly opened up a big lead in the recruitment of a 5-star, in-state WR.

With spring practice over and the 10-day Transfer Portal window closed, Kalen DeBoer, GM Courtney Morgan, and the rest of the Alabama staff can turn their attention fully to the 2026 recruiting class.

As things currently stand, Alabama sits No. 6 in the 2026 recruiting rankings, per On3. But the Crimson Tide only has five commitments, led by 5-star CB Jorden Edmonds.

That will soon change as the Crimson Tide has a ton of visitors lined up over the next few months and figures to start seeing a run on commitments soon enough. One of the upcoming visitors is 5-star WR Cederian Morgan from Benjamin Russell High School in Alexander City, AL. Morgan is set for an official visit to Alabama in June.

Ahead of his official visit, Morgan has begun to trend heavily toward the Crimson Tide. Alabama will receive Morgan's final visit before he announces his commitment on July 2nd. On3's RPM (Recruiting Prediction Machine) currently gives Alabama an 89.4% chance of landing Mogan. That's up from just 58.1% two weeks ago. A big reason for that is a recent prediction that landed in favor of the Tide.

One of On3's Auburn recruiting writers, Cole Pinkston, submitted an RPM in favor of Alabama on Sunday. You know Alabama is in good shape for a prospect if the eternal sunshine pumpers down on the Plains have begun to concede.

Morgan is a 6-foot-4, 210-pound playmaker at WR. He's coming off a monster junior season at Benjamin Russell, where he caught 70 passes for 1162 yards and 14 touchdowns. Morgan holds offers from all the heavy hitters and, along with taking official visits to Alabama and Auburn this summer, will also visit Georgia, Florida, and Clemson.

Morgan a high priority for DeBoer, Alabama in big in-state push for 2026

It's no secret that DeBoer and company are making a big in-state push for the 2026 class after a disappointing showing in 2025 in the state of Alabama. The Crimson Tide still signed one of the top classes in the country, but Hugh Freeze and Auburn dominated in-state, as Alabama signed only two players from the home state in the last cycle.

That's going to change, dramatically, in 2026. Alabama already holds commitments from Zyan Gibson and Kamhariyan Johnson in this class. They're also trending with Morgan and 5-star RB Ezavier Crowell, two of the top three players in the state, per the 247 composite rankings.

Alabama is also heavily involved with 5-star DE Anthony Jones from Mobile. There's a realistic scenario in which the Crimson Tide lands the top four players from the state of Alabama in this cycle
