Alabama football heads back home for homecoming and will face the Missouri Tigers fresh off its second loss of the season. The Crimson Tide is coming off of a 24-17 loss to Tennessee just two weeks after losing on the road at Vanderbilt.

Alabama hasn't lost more than two games in a single regular season since 2010. It hadn't lost more than one regular season game prior to November since 2007. The Tide never lost more than two regular season games prior to November during the Nick Saban era. If things don't improve, perhaps even dramatically, that might change on Saturday.

Missouri had a come from behind win over Auburn at home a week ago, bouncing back from a dismantling at the hands of Texas A&M the week prior. Both teams need this win to have any hope of making the College Football Playoff.

Alabama injury report

Alabama got Kendrick Law back after he missed consecutive games following an injury against Georgia. The injury bug bit the Crimson Tide's secondary in Knoxville, and it'll be interesting to see what the availability report has to say about Keon Sabb, Red Morgan, and DeVonta Smith. Smith was in street clothes in the fourth quarter and Alabama's depth in the secondary was tested with reserves King Mack and Brayson Hubbard seeing a lot of playing time.

Missouri injury report

The big questions for Missouri on the injury front will be the health of starting QB Brady Cook and RB Nate Noel. Both have had lingering injuries and both missed extended portions of the Auburn game on Saturday, though both did return. Cook got injured in the first quarter and actually went to the hospital to get an X-Ray before returning to the game in the fourth quarter and leading Missouri to a comeback win. Cook is vital to the Tigers' success, with Notre Dame transfer Drew Pyne struggling to put the offense in position to be successful.

Weather forecast in Tuscaloosa

It'll be a warm day in Tuscaloos for late October if current projections hold. The high is projected t be 84 with a low of 54 and only a 5% chance of precipitation.

Alabama and Missouri Series History

This will be the eighth meeting between Alabama and Missouri. The Crimson Tide hold a 5-2 advantage in the all-time series, and have defeated the Tigers in all four meetings since Missouri joined the SEC in 2012.

This will be the first meeting between the two since the season opener of the COVID shortened 2020 season, a 38-19 Crimson Tide victory in Columbia. This will be only the second time Missouri has traveled to Tuscaloosa, and the first time since 2018. Alabama knocked off Missouri 39-10 in that game.

The Tide and Tigers also met in the 2014 SEC Championship Game, with Blake Sims, Amari Cooper and Alabama rolling to a 42-13 victory.

The Tigers won the first two meetings, beating Alabama in the 1968 Gator Bowl and at Legion Field in 1975. Alabama has won the last five meetings in the series.
