Alabama is looking for a quick bounce-back after a difficult defeat at the hands of Georgia last weekend in Tuscaloosa. Fortunately, it shouldn't take much for Kalen DeBoer to refocus the team ahead of the rivalry matchup on the road at Tennessee this weekend.

The Crimson Tide will have no choice but to flush last weekend's loss and direct their full attention toward the Volunteers in Knoxville.

This is one of the fiercest rivalries in college football, and even with Tennessee's offense struggling so far this season, this will be a challenging game for Alabama.

After building up a significant margin-for-error with a 5-0 start, Alabama lost some of it last week against Georgia. And if they lose to Tennessee, they will have no margin left with five games remaining. This is not a must-win for Alabama, but it's pretty close.

Alabama vs. Tennessee series history

This will mark the 109th all-time meeting between the two rivals. Alabama leads the all-time series 61-39-8. The Crimson Tide won last year in Tuscaloosa, knocking off the Volunteers 37-20. The two sides have split the last four matchups, both taking care of business at home.

Prior to Tennessee's upset win in Knoxville in 2022, Alabama had won 15 consecutive games, the longest such streak in the history of the Third Saturday in October.

The last time a road team won in this series was back in 2020, when Alabama beat Tennessee in Knoxville 48-17.
