A beat-up and hopefully pissed-off Alabama football team is back at home this week, hoping to snap a two-game losing streak against an equally desperate Texas A&M team that has been one of the biggest disappointments of the college football season thus far.
The Crimson Tide has dropped back-to-back games, first losing a heartbreaker in controversial fashion against Georgia, followed by a pitiful performance in Knoxville against Tennessee. The loss to Georgia brought optimism that this team had truly turned the corner in year three under Kalen DeBoer. Last week against Tennessee brought the same uncomfortable questions about the present and the future.
Alabama is in desperate need of a bye week with a CVS receipt for an injury report, but there's one game to go before some much-needed rest. One way or another, DeBoer has to find a way to get a win this weekend, or the season will be effectively over before November has even arrived.

Alabama vs. Texas A&M series history
Saturday will mark just the 17th all-time meeting between Alabama and Texas A&M and the first since Kalen DeBoer has been the head coach of the Crimson Tide. Alabama has owned the head-to-head series, boasting a 13-3 record against the Aggies.
The last meeting was back in 2023 during Saban's final season in Tuscaloosa, with Alabama earning a 26-20 win in College Station. The last time A&M made the trip to Tuscaloosa was in 2022 when the Tide had to play without starting QB Bryce Young, and they barely held on to a four-point win.
The first meeting between the two programs was back in the 1942 Cotton Bowl, a 29-21 win for Alabama. Texas A&M's three wins in the series came in the 1968 Cotton Bowl, when Gene Stallings beat Bear Bryant, the Johnny Manziel game in Tuscaloosa in 2012, and then during the 2021 season in College Station on a game-winning field goal.
