This weekend could change everything for Alabama and Kalen DeBoer. Yes, as you know, standout Auburn transfer wide receiver Cam Coleman is in Tuscaloosa for his official visit. Fans everywhere are praying to the Football Gods he'll commit to the Tide.
Auburn fans are crashing out with Cam Coleman at Alabama for his monster visit
Getting him on campus is one thing, but a former Bama wideout visiting another SEC side could help DeBoer here? Maybe. On Friday night, news broke that Tide transfer Isaiah Horton is going to be at Texas A&M for a visit too. The Aggies have been heavily linked to Coleman, along with Texas as well.
With Mike Elko bringing in Horton like this, it has us thinking that this might mean the Aggies are going to their Coleman Plan B, which would of course signal that Alabama could be in a great position to win this battle for Coleman after all. Sark will want to have a say in things, but this feels promising for DeBoer.

Alabama football fans remain optimistic Cam Coleman will pick the Tide
From our chair, it indeed feels like this could end up being a race between the Longhorns and Alabama and DeBoer might have extra motivation to get this done now too. In case you missed it, Alabama transfer RB commit Hollywood Smothers is in Austin for a surprise trip.
He pledged to DeBoer in what was a monster get for him and his staff, but Texas doesn't give a darn about that commitment, trying to flip Smothers before the portal closes on Jan. 16. Losing Smothers to Texas is not something anyone wants to be thinking about on Bama's campus.
At the same time, getting things over the line with Coleman, a 5-star WR transfer, is a top priority. Adding him to the offense for next season would be incredible, especially with both Austin Mack and Keelon Russell re-signing to fight for the QB1 job this spring and summer. Coleman is a stud playmaker and he'd change things in a major way for the Tide, there's no doubt about that.
