Another WR hits the Transfer Portal from the Alabama Crimson Tide

The Alabama Crimson Tide has now seen its fourth wide receiver hit the Transfer Portal following the end of the 2024 regular season, marking a big overhaul at the position for next season and leaving limited depth for the ReliaQuest Bowl.

The Alabama Crimson Tide has now seen its fourth wide receiver off of the 2024 roster enter the NCAA's Transfer Portal in the winter window. Junior Emmanuel Henderson is the latest Crimson Tide WR to enter, joining Caleb Odom, Kendrick Law, and Kobe Prentice.

Henderson is now the 14th Alabama player to enter the Transfer Portal this cycle. The Crimson Tide did get some good news earlier in the day with TE Danny Lewis Jr. removing his name from the portal to return to Alabama next season.

Henderson, an Alabama native, spent three seasons in Tuscaloosa but never could make a big impact as a receiver. He caught five passes over this three-year career, including four receptions for 82 yards this season as a junior.

His most memorable moment of the season was a 34-yard catch in the first quarter against Georgia that helped set up an opening drive touchdown for Alabama.

Henderson also served as one of two primary kick returners for the Tide this season with Kendrick Law.

All the decisions made by the quartet of receivers entering the portal make sense on the surface. Henderson, Prentice, and Law only have a single season of eligibility left and will want to be in featured roles for that final season of college football.

Next season won't be the issue. But now Alabama's depth at WR for the ReliaQuest Bowl against Michigan is in rough shape. Alabama is now expected to only have four healthy scholarship wide receivers for the bowl game.

Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard are both expected to return next season. Kalen DeBoer and the coaching staff have been hot on the trail in the portal looking for an upgrade at the No. 3 WR position, signaling to Henderson that he wasn't likely in line for much of a role next season.

Alabama has been linked to NC State's Kevin Concepcion, Mississippi State's Mario Carver, and Miami's Isaiah Horton.
