Bucky McMillan throws stones at Alabama from inside his own glass house

Texas A&M head coach Bucky McMillan couldn't help but show his own hypocrisy with his comments on Alabama and Charles Bediako.

There have been, and will be, a lot of takes about the Charles Bediako eligibility situation and what should happen now that his motion for an injunction against the NCAA was officially denied on Monday. Some will operate out of good faith, but many, many more will be throwing stones from inside their own glass homes.

There's nobody less equipped to comment on the situation than Texas A&M head coach Bucky McMillan, the long-time Alabama high school head coach who parlayed a successful five-year run at Samford into the Texas A&M job last offseason.

Of course, that didn't stop the architect of "Bucky Ball" from opening his mouth and inserting his foot directly into it when he was asked about the situation on Tuesday.

"How is it made right for us? Because they're not going to be able to play with their full roster against the other teams when we had to play against their full roster," McMillan said. ..."I don't know how that's made right for us."

Why is what McMillan said so hypocritical? I'm glad you asked.

Texas A&M is playing a player deemed ineligible by the NCAA

The Aggies have played a player all year, 25-year-old Rashaun Agee, whom the NCAA deemed ineligible to play this season. Agee is only eligible to play right now because a Texas judge granted him a preliminary injunction against the NCAA.

I'm sure all of you non-Alabama fans had the same outrage when a biased judge granted his injunction with the same level of vitriol you threw at Judge James Roberts in Tuscaloosa for granting Bediako's restraining orders.

But that doesn't change the fact that Agee is ineligible in the eyes of the NCAA, something they reiterated during Friday's injunction hearing on Friday in Tuscaloosa for the Bediako case:

Agee has made a significant impact for Texas A&M, averaging 14 points and 9 rebounds per game, numbers that exceed the production Alabama was getting from Bediako.

Also, Bediako was a -9 in Alabama's three-point win over Texas A&M last week. The Tide was 12 points better with him on the bench. It's not just sour grapes from McMillan; it's downright embarrassing.

If other coaches who aren't actively breaking NCAA rules want to make a comment, go for it. It won't change anything. But if it makes you feel better, by all means.

But Bucky? The sanctimony is rich coming from him.

Give me a break.
