Over the last year and a half, the rest of the world learned exactly why Alabama loves Nick Saban so much, beyond the conference and national championships.
Since the former Crimson Tide head coach joined ESPN's College GameDay, he has become an even more beloved icon of college football, as has his wife, who is lovingly referred to as Miss Terry.
Last year, when College GameDay visited Tuscaloosa, the show made Ms. Terry the guest picker of the week, and she absolutely crushed the assignment. This year, ESPN chose a much more disappointing guest picker, opting for comedian Theo Von (a Louisiana native with no ties to the Tide).

However, the Saturday morning show redeemed itself just a couple of days before kick off, announcing that both Ms. Terry and current Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer would be a part of the show.
Over the 16 years that Saban coached the Crimson Tide, Ms. Terry (known as the First Lady of Alabama football) became nearly as important to the program's culture as the head coach himself. Beyond making her presence known around the football facilities, she helped run Nick's Kids Foundation, which gives thousands of dollars annually to numerous charities across the state.
A former teacher herself, Terry Saban has played an integral role in the city of Tuscaloosa, recently erecting a new playground at Civitan Park as a part of the couple's foundation.
College GameDay kicks off the weekend at 8 a.m. CT on Saturday, Oct. 4, ahead of the Crimson Tide's game against the Vanderbilt Commodores.
A few hours later, No. 10 Alabama (3-1 overall, 1-0 SEC) and No. 16 Vanderbilt (5-0 overall, 1-0 SEC) are scheduled to kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT, and the game will be broadcast on ABC.
